Mini Jet Engine Prototype
Hello to everyone;
Today, I will give you information about the prototype jet engine we made as a graduation project in 2019. In fact, I'll look more into the past and add some notes that I'd like to remember.
Everything started with a German company coming to our school and holding a symposium on aircraft parts.
At that time, we had to handle many projects and lessons at the same time. We went to school in the evenings, and in the mornings we mostly worked on lessons and projects.
Once again, we went to school tired one day. There is overcrowding. We barely found a place and sat down.
After a while, the symposium started. The German firm started to introduce and explain the pieces and materials they made. We listen and try to catch the details. At that time, it occurred to me that I had not eaten since morning. In my eyes, dreams of having a barbecue on the fire coming out of the jet engine's exhaust began to circulate. That's when I actually made my decision.
My priority was to build a jet engine. After that, all that was left was to cook the meat. Easy right.
At the end of my symposium, I sat down and started researching. What is a jet engine and how does it work. (Ofcourece I knew what is Jet Engine. I just wanted to start like I don't know anything. Like baby steps. No rush.)
Anyway, I watched almost every video that came my way and tried to read every source I could find. I accept that difficult times. Because most of the resources I found were in English, German, Russian and Chinese. (Yea, I went China and I did my intership there but not same thing bruh. Trust me. That's another level.)
English is still a language we know, but Russian and Chinese are completely opposite. I don't even want to add German.
uhh. It's tough times but don't give up. (our precious should be mine. Just Kidding.) 😹
At that time, people in Turkey had no desire to do such projects.
(I don't know why. Actually I know but Don't know. It's complicated. They just wanted to do simple paper work project or kinda of things. Because, It's was easy. Although it is not easy for me. If we are going to be engineers, we really need to take some responsibilities and put our hands under them.) However, I don't know if there is. Unfortunately, I did not encounter any Turkish publications during this project. :(( (sad face sad face) 😿
But there were people who tried to do it before, and we contacted a person who did, but frankly, it didn't help much.
Fortunately, most of my problems were solved thanks to Google Translate. But the truth is that the real problem was just beginning.
How is a Jet Engine made? First of all, I have to say that if you don't have the money, it's like impossible to do such a big project.
Does not matter. As we always say, is it impossible? huh. The impossible just takes a little more time. No problem baby.
It really did.
After, We finished the drawings. But we don't have enough money to buy the materials. While we were thinking about what to do, a little Experience intervened + a little imagination lit up our surroundings and after a short storm we started to build a machine out of the impossible. We produced some of the parts in the industry and some of them through factories that wanted to help us. While everything was going well, we needed an advanced CNC machine for the compressor. no problem baby.
We made the part ready for laser cutting and produced it in 3 parts, which can be connected with bolts. Brain is free, use it. Right ;)
Then, after a short struggle of 2 months, we completed and delivered the project.
Oddly enough, they wouldn't let me have a barbecue. They told me this is dangerous. Oh really. I did not know that thanks a lot.
Can you really believe that. :S 👀
Anyway. One day I'll make that barbecue. Muck Muck. 👄
